FAQ

Questions

DRAFT: needs attorney review. Cheri approved these answers on November 7, 2026. An attorney still needs to review them before launch.

About the stories

Who is it for?

Children going through a big change, such as divorce or separation, foster care, adoption, a blended family, a loss, a move, a new school or a new baby, and the grown-ups who put them to bed. Grown-ups choose the stories. Children listen or read along.

What ages is it for?

Children 3 to 12. Each story is marked for ages 3 to 6, ages 7 to 12, or both. You pick the age group on the page; we do not store it.

Is Little Haven therapy?

No. Little Haven is not therapy, legal advice, or a substitute for professional care. More about this.

Does it replace a counselor or other professional?

No. A story can give a calm place to start, but it is not care, advice or treatment. If your child is struggling, please talk with a doctor, counselor or other professional.

Can my child use it alone?

It is made for a grown-up to start. Children do not have accounts, there is nothing to tap through, and everything stops on its own when the story ends. Many families press play together and let their child listen in bed.

Who reviews the stories?

Each story is reviewed by the professionals it needs, such as people who work in mental health, faith, foster care and adoption, or family law, and it cannot be published until those reviews are marked complete. A faith closing is only offered after an adviser from that tradition signs off.

Listening and reading

Is the narration AI-generated?

Yes, for now. Our goal is to have real people narrate the stories. Until then, every story page says the narration is AI-generated.

Are the pictures AI-generated?

The pictures are AI-assisted. A human illustrator may finish them. The stories never need the pictures: audio works without them, and you can turn pictures off when reading.

What are the closings?

Each story ends with a closing you choose: an everyday ending, or a Christian faith ending. Jewish closings are being drafted with a Jewish adviser and will be added after review. Some stories have only the everyday ending.

Do you keep my faith choice?

Only if you ask us to. Your closing and voice choices are saved on your own device. Subscribers can choose to have them remembered on their account too, so another device starts with the same choice. That is off unless you turn it on, keeps only the one choice (never what you listened to or when), and turning it off clears it.

Can I see the words while a story plays?

Yes, if you want to. Turn on Show the words while listening in the player, and the page being read is shown. It is off unless you turn it on.

Can I read a story myself instead of playing it?

Yes. On a story's page, choose Read it yourself. You see the story page by page, with or without pictures, and no sound plays. Small dots show where to slow down. Read-along for the Always Here stories is free with no account. Where you stopped reading is saved only on your device.

Does a story keep playing into the next one?

No. When a story ends, it stops. If you choose soft music, it plays for the time you picked and then stops by itself.

Can we listen without internet?

Yes. On a story's page, choose Save for offline listening. The story stays on that device until you remove it.

Accounts, homes and privacy

Do I need an account?

Not for the Always Here stories. They are free for anyone, with no sign-in. You need an account only to subscribe to the full library.

Will the free stories always be free?

Yes. The Always Here stories stay free, with no account. Read our promise.

What do you never collect?

Anything about your child. We never ask for a child's name, age, birthday, photo, or anything about your family's situation, custody or placement. Children never have accounts. There is no chat and no recording.

What data do you keep?

For a grown-up with an account: your email address, a scrambled form of your password, your plan and subscription status, and, only if you turn it on, one remembered closing and voice. Stripe keeps payment details; we never see your card. We keep no listening history. Privacy details.

Do you keep track of what we listen to?

No. We do not keep listening history. The spot where you stopped is saved only on your own phone, tablet or computer, so you can pick up where you left off.

Our children live in two homes. Can both grown-ups use it?

Yes. Each grown-up has their own account, and the free stories need no account at all. Accounts are never linked or shared, and no one can see another person's account or what they listen to.

We have two homes. Does each home need its own subscription?

Yes, today each grown-up subscribes on their own, because accounts are never shared or linked. The free stories need no account in either home.

Are there ads?

No. There are no ads and no tracking.

Paying and canceling

Does my subscription renew by itself?

Yes. It renews automatically at the same price each month or year until you cancel. Stripe emails a receipt each time you are charged.

How do I cancel?

On your account page, press Cancel subscription. That is the only step. You keep listening until the end of the time you already paid for, and you are not charged again.

Do you give refunds?

When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the month or year you paid for. We do not give partial refunds for the time left.

I have a partner code. Where do I use it?

Sign in, go to your account page, and enter it under Have a partner code. No card is needed for codes that give free access. Discount codes go on the pricing page when you subscribe.

How do I delete my account?

At the bottom of your account page. It cancels any subscription right away and deletes your account.
